Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices Bread white, brioche, or whole wheat work well
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup Almond flour or finely ground almonds
  • 3 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon Almond extract optional but lovely
  • a small pinch Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Sliced almonds optional, for topping

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, add the softened butter and sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the egg and stir until fully combined.
  • Mix in the almond flour, vanilla extract, almond extract, and salt. The mixture should be spreadable, not runny.
  • Lay the bread slices on a tray or plate. Spread a generous layer of the almond mixture on one side of each slice.
  • Sprinkle sliced almonds on top if using.
  • Toast in a toaster oven or oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10–12 minutes, or until golden and lightly crisp.
  • Let cool for a minute before serving. The topping will set slightly as it cools.
