Bacon and Peanut Butter Cupcakes for Dogs

Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour or oat flour for sensitive stomachs
- ½ cup rolled oats
- ½ cup natural peanut butter xylitol-free, unsalted
- 2 strips cooked bacon finely chopped
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup unsweetened applesauce or plain pumpkin puree
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ cup water add more if batter is too thick
Optional Frosting (Dog-Safe):
- Plain Greek yogurt
- Peanut butter small amount
Instructions
Preheat your oven
- Set it to 350°F (175°C). Line your muffin tin with cupcake liners or lightly grease it.
Cook the bacon first
- Fry or bake the bacon until fully cooked and crispy. Let it cool completely, then finely chop. Set aside.
Mix the dry ingredients
- In a bowl, combine flour, oats, and baking powder. Stir well.
Mix the wet ingredients
- In another bowl, whisk together peanut butter, egg, applesauce (or pumpkin), and water until smooth.
Combine everything
- Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients. Stir gently, then fold in the chopped bacon. The batter should be thick but scoopable.
Fill the muffin tin
- Spoon the batter evenly into the cups, filling each about ¾ full.
Bake
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the tops are set and lightly golden.
Cool completely
- This is important. Dogs should never eat hot baked goods.
Optional frosting
- Mix a little Greek yogurt with peanut butter and spread lightly on top once cupcakes are cool.
