Ingredients
  

For the Cheese Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack
  • 6 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 2 jalapenos finely diced (seeds removed for mild heat)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For Coating

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs or panko

For Cooking

  • Oil for frying or cooking spray for baking

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, shredded cheeses, bacon, jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Scoop mixture and roll into small balls.
  • Chill the balls in the fridge for 30 minutes to firm up.
  • Roll each ball in flour, dip in egg, then coat in breadcrumbs.
  • For frying: Heat oil and fry until golden brown.
  • For baking: Bake at 400 F for 18 to 20 minutes, flipping once.
  • Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
