Ingredients
  

For the chicken filling:

  • 3 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

For the sliders:

  • 1 package Hawaiian rolls 12 rolls
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup red onion thinly sliced

For the buttery topping:

  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare the oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Step 2: Prepare the chicken mixture

  • In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken with barbecue sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until the chicken is fully coated and flavorful.

Step 3: Slice the rolls

  • Without separating the rolls, carefully slice the entire sheet of Hawaiian rolls horizontally to create a top half and bottom half.

Step 4: Build the base

  • Place the bottom half of the rolls into the baking dish.

Step 5: Add the chicken

  • Spread the barbecue chicken mixture evenly across the bottom layer of rolls.

Step 6: Add cheese and onions

  • Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly over the chicken. Add thin slices of red onion for extra flavor.

Step 7: Add the top buns

  • Place the top half of the rolls over the filling.

Step 8: Prepare the butter topping

  • In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley.

Step 9: Brush the rolls

  • Brush the butter mixture evenly across the tops of the rolls.

Step 10: Bake the sliders

  • Cover the dish loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake another 5 minutes until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted.

Step 11: Serve warm

  • Allow the sliders to cool for a few minutes, then slice along the roll lines and serve.
