Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups whole milk for creaminess; skim works but won’t be as luscious
  • 1 cup half and half this makes it velvety
  • 1 cup high-quality white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon sugar optional; depends on sweetness preference
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream mini marshmallows, white chocolate shavings, cinnamon, caramel drizzle

Instructions
 

Heat the milk and half and half.

  • In a saucepan over medium-low heat, warm the milk and half and half. Don’t let it boil. Boiling milk is a fast path to sadness.

Add the white chocolate.

  • Add your chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate. Whisk continuously until fully melted and smooth.

Add flavor.

  • Stir in vanilla extract, a pinch of salt, and sugar if you want extra sweetness.

Simmer gently.

  • Let the mixture warm for another minute or two, whisking occasionally. Do not boil.

Serve warm.
