- 2 slices thick-cut artisan bread sourdough or multigrain works best
- 2 large ripe avocados
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice about half a lemon
- 1½ tablespoons extra virgin olive oil plus more for drizzling
- ½ teaspoon sea salt adjust to taste
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Optional toppings (very First Watch–inspired):
- Cherry tomatoes halved

Prep the avocados
Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Use a fork to gently mash them. Don’t overdo it—you want some texture, not avocado baby food.
Season simply
Add lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper to the avocado. Mix gently. Taste it. This is important. Adjust the seasoning until it tastes bright and clean.
