9x13-inch baking dish
Sharp serrated knife
Small mixing bowl
Pastry brush
Aluminum foil
Cutting board
- 12 soft dinner rolls Hawaiian rolls work beautifully
- 12 slices deli ham about 1 pound
- 8 –10 slices Swiss cheese or cheddar cheese
- ½ cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon honey optional but lovely
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds optional
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley
- Pinch of salt
Step 2: Slice the Rolls
Without separating the rolls individually, slice the entire pack horizontally using a serrated knife. Keep the top and bottom halves intact.
Place the bottom half into the baking dish.
Step 3: Layer the Ham and Cheese
Arrange the ham evenly over the bottom layer. Fold the slices if needed so every roll gets a generous portion.
Place the cheese slices on top of the ham, covering it fully. Do not be shy here. That melted cheese is what makes these sliders irresistible.
Place the top half of the rolls back on.
Step 4: Make the Butter Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, poppy seeds, and a small pinch of salt.
The mixture should smell savory and slightly sweet.
Step 6: Cover and Bake
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for another 5–10 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
Step 7: Cool Slightly and Serve
