Ingredients
  

For Hello Fresh Cream Sauce Base Recipe:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk whole milk is preferred, 2 percent is also good
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • Salt black pepper, to taste.

Optional Flavor Boosters:

  • 2 cloves of garlic pureed (to make garlic cream sauce)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan to make it cheesy sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard to make it sharp
  • Garnish with fresh parsley thyme or chives.
  • Pinch of nutmeg geometric in cream sauces

Instructions
 

Make the Roux

  • Melt butter in a saucepan on medium heat.
  • Add the flour until a smooth paste is achieved (approximately 1-2 minutes).

Add the Liquid

  • Gradually add milk and continuously whisk to avoid lumps.
  • Add the cream, stirring until the sauce thickens, 3-5 minutes.

Season and Customize

  • Add salt and pepper.
  • Add any extras (garlic, Parmesan, mustard, herbs, etc.).
  • Bake to the desired thickness of the sauce.
