Equipment

  • Large baking sheet
  • Wire rack (highly recommended)
  • Mixing bowls
  • Small saucepan
  • Tongs
  • Measuring spoons

Ingredients

Wings

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 tbsp baking powder for crispiness
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

Hot Honey Sauce

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Wings

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
  • Pat the wings completely dry with paper towels. This is key.

Step 2: Season

  • In a bowl, toss wings with baking powder, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Make sure every wing is coated evenly.

Step 3: Bake Until Crispy

  • Arrange wings on the rack in a single layer. Bake for 45–50 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.

Step 4: Make the Hot Honey

  • While wings bake, melt butter in a saucepan over low heat. Add honey, hot sauce, chili flakes, and cayenne. Stir gently until warm and smooth. Do not boil.

Step 5: Toss and Serve

  • Once wings are done, toss them in the hot honey sauce until glossy and coated. Serve immediately.
