Ingredients

  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 –5 slices cooked bacon crumbled

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the pastry:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed (usually 8x8 or 9x9 inches)
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)

  • Chopped chives or parsley
  • Extra shredded cheddar for topping

Instructions
 

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: Make the Filling

  • In a small bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, crumbled bacon, diced jalapeños, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Mix until creamy and well combined.

Step 3: Prepare the Puff Pastry

  • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth any folds.
  • Spread the cheese and jalapeño filling evenly over the pastry.

Step 4: Cut and Twist

  • Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the puff pastry into strips (about 1 inch wide).
  • Carefully twist each strip several times and place on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 5: Apply Egg Wash

  • Brush each twist lightly with beaten egg to achieve a golden, shiny finish.

Step 6: Bake Until Golden
