Equipment

  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons.
  • 8x8-inch or similar baking dish
  • Oven
  • Serving spoon
  • Optional: small food processor (if you like a smoother texture)

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 8 ounces lump crab meat picked over for shells
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat and prep

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease your baking dish lightly with butter or nonstick spray so the dip won’t stick.

Step 2: Mix the base

  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, and garlic. Mix until smooth and creamy.

Step 3: Fold in crab and cheese

  • Gently fold in the lump crab meat, being careful not to break it up too much. Then add half of the shredded cheddar and mozzarella, folding lightly to incorporate.

Step 4: Transfer and top

  • Spoon the mixture into your prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese on top for a golden, bubbly crust.

Step 5: Bake

  • Bake for 20 minutes or until the top is golden and the dip is bubbly around the edges.

Step 6: Garnish and serve

  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve warm with crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • Use fresh lump crab meat for the best flavor.
  • Don’t overmix the crab to keep nice chunks in the dip.
  • Adjust seasonings gradually—Old Bay adds a lot of flavor, so taste before adding extra.
  • For extra indulgence, drizzle a little melted butter over the top before baking.
