Measuring spoons & cups
A whisk or spoon for mixing
A jar with a lid for storage
- 1 cup mayonnaise the creamy base
- 2 tbsp dill pickles chopped fine (to add crunch and tang)
- 1 tbsp sweet relish to add some sweetness
- 1 tbsp onion extremely fine minced.
- 1 tsp lemon juice to add lightness
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard optional, to add richness
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Pinch of salt to taste
The pickles and onions must be chopped very finely to ensure the sauce remains smooth.
Add the mayonnaise, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard to a bowl. Whisk until smooth.
Add chopped pickles, relish, onion, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 h and then serve. This enables the flavors to blend.
Pair with fried catfish, shrimp, hush puppies, crab cakes or even roasted potatoes.
