For the Rolls
- 1 cup warm milk 110F–115F
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1/3 cup softened butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour additional as required
To Cinnamon Butter (Not compulsory, but customary)
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Activate the Yeast
Heat the milk until it becomes hot, but not too hot to touch. Pour it into a large bowl. Add the sugar and yeast. Blend and allow the mixture to rest for 5-10 minutes. You know when the surface foams, then your yeast is alive.
Mix the Dough
Add butter, salt, and egg, which have been softened. Blend until it becomes mixed. Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, until you have a soft dough, which still sticks a little, but separates only a little, and is still in the bowl.
First Rise
Put the dough in a bowl that is greased, cover it with a clean towel, and allow it to rise for 1 hour. It will be twice its size - there is nothing like seeing dough rise to be considered a minor miracle.
Bake
Bake at 350°Ffor 15-17 minutes until top is lightly golden. Not too dark, or they will appear like Logan himself, with his light, soft colour.
Prepare Cinnamon Butter (Not mandatory but advisable)
Combine softened butter, powdered sugar, honey, and cinnamon. Whip until smooth and fluffy.
But put it on hot rolls... and do not fall in love right off.
