Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup Louisiana hot sauce or any bold vinegar-based hot sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper adjust for heat
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Optional: 1 tbsp ketchup for deeper color
  • Optional: 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce for savory depth

Instructions
 

  • Place a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the butter and let it melt completely until it starts to bubble around the edges.
  • Whisk in the hot sauce, honey, brown sugar, and vinegar.
  • Keep whisking until everything blends into a glossy sauce.
  • Add garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne, black pepper, and salt.
  • Keep simmering for 3 to 4 minutes — not too high, not too low.
  • Taste and adjust. Want more heat? Add cayenne. More sweetness? Add honey.
  • Let the sauce cool slightly.
  • Store it in a jar for up to 10 days in the fridge.
