- 1/2 cup Louisiana hot sauce or any bold vinegar-based hot sauce
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper adjust for heat
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Optional: 1 tbsp ketchup for deeper color
- Optional: 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce for savory depth
Place a saucepan over medium heat.
Add the butter and let it melt completely until it starts to bubble around the edges.
Whisk in the hot sauce, honey, brown sugar, and vinegar.
Keep whisking until everything blends into a glossy sauce.
Add garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne, black pepper, and salt.
Keep simmering for 3 to 4 minutes — not too high, not too low.
Taste and adjust. Want more heat? Add cayenne. More sweetness? Add honey.
Let the sauce cool slightly.
Store it in a jar for up to 10 days in the fridge.
