- 4 ounces silver tequila
- 4 ounces watermelon liqueur or watermelon juice for a lighter version
- 2 ounces fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon chili powder Tajín works great
- Ice cubes
- Lime wedges for rimming
Start by preparing the rims. On a small plate, mix the sugar and chili powder. Cut a lime wedge and run it around the rim of each shot glass. Dip the rim into the chili-sugar mixture and set aside.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the tequila, watermelon liqueur, and fresh lime juice. Shake well for about 15 seconds until chilled and slightly frothy.
Strain the mixture evenly into the prepared shot glasses. Serve immediately while cold.
