Equipment

  • One big pitcher (2-quart and larger)
  • Wooden spoon for stirring
  • Measuring cup
  • Wine glasses
  • Optional: cocktail shaker in case you are willing to make single-serving mixtures.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle Red wine (750 ml, dry Spanish red such as Tempranillo or Garnacha is fine)
  • ½ cup Blackberry brandy
  • 1 cup Cranberry juice
  • 1 cup Pineapple juice
  • 2-3 tablespoons Simple syrup or sugar (to taste)
  • 1 cup Fresh blackberries
  • 1 large Orange slices (orange, cut into rounds)
  • 1 large Slices of lemon ( lemon cut into rounds)
  • Ice cubes – as needed

Instructions

1: Mix the Base

  • Add the red wine, blackberry brandy, cranberry juice, pineapple juice, and simple syrup to your pitcher. Stir well to blend.

2: Add the Fruit

  • Add fresh blackberries, orange slices, and lemon slices. This not only adds flavor, but it also makes the beverage look beautiful.

3: Chill

  • Refrigerate and cover the pitcher for at least 2 hours. Even better is the night-time--then the fruit is steeped and all the juices come out.

4: Serve

  • Add ice to glasses, pour in sangria, and ensure that each glass receives a portion of fruit. Serve with additional blackberries or a slice of citrus, should you feel like it.
