A blender (the Vitamix is the best, but any good one is fine).
Measuring cups and spoons.
A spatula (to scrape the sides)
Mason jars or glasses to serve.
A fun straw (since smoothies are better with a straw, I do not make the rules)
- 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries frozen is thick and cold--fresh does work, however, add ice
- 1 cup skim milk calcium or almonds (creaminess + protein)
- squeezer: lemon lemon zest, or lemon juice (squeezer
- 1 cup orange juice or apple juice apple juice will make it mild, OJ will give it a tang
- ½ cup Greek yogurt plain or vanilla
- 1 tbsp honey or agave only when fruit is not sweet enough
- 1/2 banana optional – a little secret of making it very creamy.
- Oat milk or almond milk splash in case you want a less thick consistency.
Optional boosts:
- A few spinach leaves you will not chew them!.
- Protein powder
- A teaspoon of flax or chia seeds.
Add liquids first. Add juice and some milk to the blender. This assists in the smooth blending of all.
Add yogurt and fruit. Add in the Greek yogurt, frozen strawberries, and banana as desired.
Sweeten to taste. Add drizzles of honey or agave in case your strawberries aren’t off-the-scale sweet.
Blend. Add low, then turn it to high until it is creamy and smooth. Wipe the sides with a scrape.
Serve. Add to ice, serve in a chilled glass, add a straw, and enjoy your easy-to-create cafe drink!
