Ingredients
  

  • 4 tilapia fillets about 4–5 oz each
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese freshly grated works best
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs panko or regular
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions
 

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with oil.

Step 2: Prepare the Crust

  • In a small bowl, mix together the Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Pour in the melted butter and olive oil. Stir until everything looks like damp sand.

Step 3: Prep the Fish

  • Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. This helps the crust stick better and keeps the fish from getting watery.
  • Place the fillets on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 4: Add the Parmesan Topping

  • Spoon the Parmesan mixture evenly over each fillet. Gently press it down so it sticks well.

Step 5: Bake

  • Bake uncovered for 12–15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fish. The crust should be golden and the fish should flake easily with a fork.
  • If you want extra browning, you can broil for the last 1–2 minutes, but keep a close eye on it.

Step 6: Serve

  • Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley if using, and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
