Equipment

  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon optional
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips optional

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2: Mash Bananas

  • In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth. A few small lumps are okay.

Step 3: Mix Wet Ingredients

  • Add melted butter to the mashed bananas. Then mix in sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Stir until well combined.

Step 4: Combine Dry Ingredients

  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

Step 5: Combine Everything

  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 6: Add Extras

  • Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using.

Step 7: Bake

  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 55–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Step 8: Cool and Serve
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack. Slice and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas (the darker, the better)
  • Don’t overmix the batter
  • Measure flour correctly (spoon and level)
  • Check doneness with a toothpick
  • Let it cool before slicing
