Equipment

  • Tall glass (highball or Collins glass)
  • Measuring cup or jigger
  • Spoon (for gentle layering)
  • Ice scoop or tray
  • Citrus juicer (optional, if using fresh juice)

Ingredients

  • 1 can 8.4 oz / 250 ml Red Bull (classic or sugar-free)
  • ½ cup orange juice freshly squeezed preferred
  • 1 –2 tablespoons grenadine syrup
  • Ice cubes enough to fill the glass
  • Orange slice or maraschino cherry optional garnish

Optional additions:

  • Splash of pineapple juice for extra tropical notes
  • Lemon or lime wedge for brightness

Instructions

Step 1: Fill the Glass with Ice

  • Fill a tall glass completely with ice. Cold is key here—it keeps the layers crisp and the fizz lively.

Step 2: Pour the Orange Juice

  • Slowly pour the orange juice over the ice. You’ll immediately smell that fresh citrus aroma, which sets the tone for the whole drink.

Step 3: Add the Red Bull

  • Carefully pour the Red Bull into the glass. Let it flow gently so you don’t lose the carbonation. The bubbles rising through the juice are part of the magic.

Step 4: Create the Sunrise Effect

  • Drizzle the grenadine slowly down the side of the glass or over the back of a spoon. Watch as it sinks to the bottom, creating that beautiful red-to-orange gradient.

Step 5: Garnish and Serve

  • Add an orange slice or cherry if you like. Don’t stir before serving—let the layers shine.
