Equipment

  • Mixing bowl (medium size)
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Measuring spoons
  • Small airtight jar or container
  • Knife (for finely chopping pickles)
  • Cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped pickles or relish
  • 1 teaspoon pickle juice
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of salt to taste

Instructions

  • In a medium mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise as your base.
  • Pour in the ketchup and mustard, then gently whisk until smooth and evenly combined.
  • Add the finely chopped pickles and pickle juice for that signature tangy bite.
  • Stir in the white vinegar and sugar to balance acidity and sweetness.
  • Sprinkle in garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
  • Mix everything thoroughly until the sauce is creamy and uniform.
  • Taste and adjust salt if needed.
  • Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before using.

Notes

  • Always chill the sauce before serving. It allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
  • Finely chop your pickles for the best texture.
  • Taste as you go—everyone’s preference for tanginess or sweetness is different.
  • If you like a bit of heat, add a dash of hot sauce or cayenne pepper.
