Cuisine American
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/3 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice or white vinegar
Step 1: Mix the Base
In a medium bowl, add the mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk. Whisk until completely smooth and creamy.
You want no lumps here. This is the foundation.
Step 2: Add the Seasonings
Add garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, dried parsley, black pepper, salt, and lemon juice.
Stir well until everything is evenly combined.
Step 3: Taste and Adjust
This is important. Taste the dip.
Want more tang? Add a splash of buttermilk or lemon juice.
Want more savory depth? Add a pinch more garlic powder.
Too thick? Thin it slightly with buttermilk, one tablespoon at a time.
Step 4: Chill
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 1–2 hours. This gives the flavors time to blend and deepen.
The dip will thicken slightly as it chills.
