Equipment

  • Microwave-safe bowl or double boiler
  • Baking sheet or tray
  • Parchment paper or baking paper
  • Toothpicks or skewers (optional but helpful)
  • Spoon or silicone spatula
  • Cooling rack (optional)
  • Small bowls for toppings

Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

  • 500 g fresh strawberries firm, ripe, with stems attached
  • 250 g white chocolate chopped or chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or butter optional, for smoother melting

Optional Toppings and Add-ons:

  • Crushed almonds or pistachios
  • Colorful sprinkles
  • Melted dark or milk chocolate for drizzling
  • Coconut flakes
  • Crushed cookies or biscuit crumbs

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Strawberries

  • Start by washing the strawberries gently under cool water. Pat them dry thoroughly using a clean kitchen towel or paper towel.
  • This step is more important than it seems. Even a little moisture can prevent the chocolate from sticking properly or cause it to seize.
  • Let the strawberries air-dry for a few extra minutes just to be safe.

Step 2: Melt the White Chocolate

  • Place your white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Heat it in short intervals of 20–30 seconds, stirring after each round. This prevents overheating and keeps the chocolate smooth.
  • If you prefer, you can use a double boiler. This method is slower but gives you more control.
  • If the chocolate feels too thick, add a teaspoon of coconut oil or butter to make it silky and easier to dip.

Step 3: Dip the Strawberries

  • Hold each strawberry by the stem (or use a skewer if needed).
  • Dip it into the melted white chocolate, turning gently to coat it evenly.
  • Lift the strawberry and allow the excess chocolate to drip off slowly.
  • This is where patience helps—the smoother the coating, the prettier the result.

Step 4: Add Toppings

  • Place the dipped strawberries onto a parchment-lined tray.
  • While the chocolate is still soft, sprinkle toppings like crushed nuts, coconut flakes, or decorative sprinkles.
  • If you want to drizzle chocolate, wait until the base layer sets slightly, then add a thin drizzle on top.

Step 5: Chill and Set

  • Transfer the tray to the refrigerator.
  • Let the strawberries chill for about 15–20 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely firm.
  • Once set, they are ready to serve.

Notes

  • Always dry strawberries completely
  • Use good-quality white chocolate for better taste
  • Melt chocolate slowly to avoid burning
  • Work in small batches so chocolate doesn’t harden too quickly
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking
