Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh figs about 10–12 medium figs, chopped, or 1 ½ cups dried figs rehydrated
  • 2 cups raspberries fresh or frozen
  • 1 large orange zest + ½ cup freshly squeezed juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger finely grated
  • 4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 packet 1.75 oz fruit pectin
  • ½ cup water

Optional Add-ins:

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon or nutmeg
  • 1 –2 tablespoons bourbon or brandy

Instructions
 

  • Chop the figs, zest and sweeten the orange, and grate the ginger.
  • Add figs, raspberries, orange juice, zest, ginger, and a splash of water to a heavy bottomed pot.
  • Place everything into a light boil and allow the fruits to break down, stirring frequently.
  • Add sugar and pectin, and mix to avoid lumps. Continue to cook until the jam becomes thick and shiny.
  • Dot a spoonful on a chilled plate. When it wrinkles, pushing, then it is gotten.
  • Pour hot jam into sterilized jars and seal them, and let cool until the tops pop.
