Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Zester (for the lemon, optional)
  • Measuring cups and spoons.
  • An airtight container for chilling the sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 3–4 tbsp prepared horseradish adjust to taste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp hot sauce like Tabasco
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • ½ tsp lemon zest optional
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper optional

Instructions
 

  • Blend the Base- Add ketchup and horseradish to a medium mixing bowl. Stir until smooth.
  • Add the Layers- Whisk in Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, lemon juice, and zest.
  • Add It Season It Up Sprinkle with celery salt, black pepper, and a pinch of cayenne. Taste and adjust.
  • Chill - Refrigerate and or cover with at least 1 hour to serve. Their tastes really come to life when they are mixed.
  • Serve- Spoon into a small chilled bowl and arrange it on an ice platter with shrimp, oysters, or crab legs.
