Equipment

  • A blender
  • A knife
  • A cutting board
  • Measuring cups
  • A big glass or mason jar

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh spinach or packed handful
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1 cup frozen mango
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup apple juice adjust for sweetness
  • 1/2 banana optional but recommended for creaminess
  • 1/2 cup cold water or ice optional depending on consistency
  • 1 tablespoon honey optional if you want it sweeter
  • A squeeze of fresh lemon my secret brightness booster

Instructions

Add the spinach first.

  • This helps the leaves blend smoothly instead of flying around the jar like confetti.

Add the pineapple, mango, and banana.

  • Use frozen fruit for a thicker texture. Fresh works too, but you’ll need extra ice.

Pour in the apple juice.

  • Start with 1/2 cup and adjust later if needed.

Add honey and lemon juice.

  • The lemon especially makes a huge difference in balancing the sweetness.

Blend on high.

  • Keep going until smooth and creamy. Depending on your blender, 30–60 seconds.

Adjust texture.

  • Add more juice for a thinner smoothie, or add ice for a thicker one.

Pour and enjoy immediately.

  • Green smoothies always taste best fresh and cold.
